"The Only Thing That Counts Is Winning" is the eighth episode of the fifth season, and the ninety-fourth episode overall of The CW's Dynasty. It aired on April 15, 2022.
Synopsis[]
RISKS - As Fallon gears up for the Peachtree Stakes horse race, she comes up with a plan that she thinks will help her win. Dominique wants Jeff to help promote her new accessory line at the Peachtree Stakes. Blake offers Amanda help and she turns to Cristal for advice. Adam causes problems in Alexis' relationship. Meanwhile, Culhane pursues a new love interest, much to Kirby's dismay. Sam learns of some heartbreaking news.[1]
Plot Summary[]
Bets are high at the Peachtree Stakes where Fallon's steed, Allegra (trained by Daniel), runs against Patty's. Dex pushes Alexis and Adam to see a therapist and address their strained issues. Kirby discourages Culhane from dating her colleague, Sasha, but he does anyway and learns both models are being bilked by Charlie. The death of Luna, a spirited friend Jeff met in recovery, inspires him to move past the Mars fiasco. Cristal suggests Amanda embrace being a Carrington and follow Blake's example in dealing with troubles at the hospital. After Allegra's victory, Daniel lets Sam know his drug use is for cancer. Fallon finds both glory in her win and humility to trust others.[2]

Quotes[]
Alexis: You cheated on our company.
Adam: Because you stole my drug.
Alexis: Because you framed me for murder.
Adam: Because you paid someone to break up me and Kirby.
Dr. Bronner: Okay, uh, the session is only 45 minutes. As much as I appreciate a litany of grievances, perhaps a truce is what's needed, yeah?
Alexis: I already truced. And that's after he burned my face off.
Dr. Bronner: I don't think hyperbolic metaphors...
Adam: Burning your face was the only way I could get you to listen to me. And it only lasted until the gauze was removed.
Dr. Bronner: Okay, so apparently not a metaphor. Clearly there are some deep wounds, uh, between the two of you, but the good news is, uh, none of them seem unfixable. You just need to do the work and be honest about your feelings. Which clearly isn't an issue.
Adam: It is for her because she won't admit the real truth. The worst thing she's ever done to me.
Dr. Bronner: Okay, meaning?
Adam: Meaning that when I was kidnapped as a child, she stopped looking for me. She gave up on me then, so I'm giving up on her now.
Cristal The first time I ever did some Carrington-like things, I had to take a sleeping pill at night for a few weeks. But then, one day, I realized, "Hey, you're not doing anything wrong." When people come after us, we need to fight back. So now I enjoy a glass of chilled champagne at bedtime and sleep like a baby. And so will you. Trust me.
Amanda: Well, I have worked too hard to let this bastard ruin it all.
Cristal: No one is going to hand you power or respect, Amanda. You need to take it and live with the consequences.
Amanda: Tell Blake I'm ready.
Dominique: I'm so sorry, Jeff. It's unfair.
Jeff: It is. And what's even more unfair is that she couldn't afford the longterm drug needed to keep her alive. She knew she only had a handful of days left and didn't want to spend them in the hospital.
Dominique: It's sad, but be thankful for the time you got to spend with her.
Jeff: I wish we had more time. She left me this.
Dominique: "Don't miss out on your life while you're trying to get it together. Take some chances." Sound advice.
Jeff: And I'm taking it. Someone is going to pay for Luna's death. I will make sure she didn't die in vain. No matter what it takes.
