Kelly Rutherford (born Kelly Rutherford Deane on November 6, 1968) is an American actress. She is best known for her starring roles in television series Generations (1989-1991), Melrose Place (1996-1999) and Gossip Girl (2007-2012).
She began her career in daytime soap-operas Loving and Generations, in which she played one of the leading role Sam Whitmore before guest-starred or being main character of short-lived series such as Davis Rules, Homefront, Bodies of Evidence, Bill & Ted Excellent Adventures, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr, The Great Defender, Courthouse and Kindred : The Embrace.

In 1996, she joined the primetime soap opera Melrose Place as Megan Lewis and was a main character from its fifth season to its end in 1999, playing opposite Marcia Cross and Alyssa Milano.
In 2000, she was a part of the Scream horror series playing Christine Hamilton in the third installment of the franchise and succeeded to Drew Barrymore and Jada Pinkett Smith as the first victim of the Ghostface stalker.
She then guest-starred again in series such as Get Real, Nash Bridges, The Outer Limits, The Fugitive, Night Visions or The Disctrict and was a main cast in the short-lived series Treat Matrix (2003-2004) and E-Ring (2005-2006).

She has been married and divorced twice. She also dated one of her fictional Gossip Girl husband, Matthew Settle. She has two children.
