Quotes[]
Adam: Thank you for your support, Father. I-I don't know where I'd be without you.
Blake: In jail.
Kirby: Do you mind if I wear this?
Amanda: Um, you already are.
Kirby: Good point. Besides being super brilliant, supportive, and gorgeous, I love being your girlfriend because I've effectively doubled my wardrobe options.
Alexis (to Fallon and Amanda): Wonderful. Oh, 'cause I was thinking that I could be Goldie Hawn and you could be Kate Hudson and... Kate Hudson's sister.
Sam: I already have a pretty solid lead on who the queen escort is. Ms. Thang over there has been buzzing around like she knows everyone.
Michael: Probably because she does. That's Anika, from the billing department.
Sam: Oh, Anika. (laughs) Well, she shouldn't be day-drinking.
Fallon: Yes I did love Annie, but only because I related to her. You know a-a girl surviving on her own without her parents. Sure, Annie was abandoned and left in an orphanage, and I was alone in the Carrington Manor, but you get the parallels.
Alexis: I was hoping this pit stop would trigger something positive.
Fallon: No, only childhood trauma.
Culhane: Well escorts are attracted to wealthy, single men, so, naturally, we thought of you.
Liam: Okay, but I'm pretty sure you know I'm... married, considering you were both there
Culhane: Well, yes, it was a beautiful ceremony, except for the guy wielding the knife.
Blake: If Anders were here, this would have all been taken care of already.
Cristal: But he's not. We can find you a majordomo, but for now you need to distance yourself from Adam. The further he falls, the further he drags down the Carrington name.
Blake: He's my son, Cristal.
Cristal: Exactly. Which is why he knows you will always bail him out.
Blake: Adam is my son, yes. But that doesn't mean I knew about his actions beforehand, nor do I condone them. But just as the child shouldn't suffer the sins of the father, well, the reverse is also true. And make no mistake. Adam Carrington has sinned. Blake Carrington has not. And Adam will have to face the consequences of what he has done. Thank you.
Alexis: When it became clear that my marriage to your father was over, I spared no expense to have this home custom-built. Notice the imported Brazilian floores throughout, the Moroccan Zellige tiles in the powder room.
Fallon: What does hiring an expensive interior designer have to do with us?
Alexis: I had plans to put a paddock out back, Fallon. I wanted to foster your passion for riding. I knew being away from your horses wouldn't be easy. I turned the study into a library for Steven so he had a place all his own to read. His nose was always in a book. Amanda. Your bedroom was upstairs. And I filled it with all of your favorite things from London. I even painted it bright green because I knew it was your favorite. I might not have been your mother, but I did keep tabs on you. Can you see how far I went to make you feel at home here?
Fallon: Yes, but we never lived here, did we? I mean, you left when I was 14, and I didn't see you for years.
Amanda: Yeah, and you may have decorated a bedroom for me, but you did also spend 25 years not claiming me as your daughter.
Alexis: I don't think that's very fair.
Fallon: Neither is life. We're leaving first thing in the morning. (scoffs) This entire house is you in a nutshell... Big promises with no follow-through.
Alexis: I was up the entire night thinking, and you are right. I can be selfish, and this relic of a house is emblematic of who I am... A mother who made some bad decisions.
Fallon: Sounds like an instance where sending an email would have been easier than an out-of-state trip.
Alexis: But... both of you are being selfish and unfair as well. I can't change the past. So you need to hear me out. After I bought this place, I went to visit you, Amanda. I was going to tell you the truth and bring you back to the States. I saw you play Emily in a production of Our Town. (to Fallon) Her Emily was sublime, but the Stage Manager might as well have been reading the phone book. (to Amanda) While I was waiting to give you roses, I saw how close you were to your parents. I realized it would be devastating for them if I took you back. And it wouldn't have been the best for you either. So I stayed quiet, and I have always regretted that.
Jeff: You know, even through all the craziness these past few years, you've been a great friend.
Kirby: Okay. (sighs) I need to tell you something that's been eating me up inside. I knew about Blake owning ColbyCo. months ago, and I didn't tell you.
Jeff: (scoffs) Are you kidding?
Kirby: You know, I was in such an awkward position between you and Amanda and Blake. I hope you understand.
Jeff: Actually, I don't. You saw me flailing and didn't say anything.
Kirby: I feel awful. But I'm telling you now, aren't I? It's part of my commitment to rigorous honesty.
Jeff: Well, here's some rigorous honesty for you. You took Blake's side, and you're six months too late.
Ryan (to Sam): Well, I wanted to use those handcuffs on you, not Liam.
Amanda: I can see why Alexis says you're so dramatic.
Kirby: Whoa. So you and Alexis... What? You're just like best friends who talk about me behind my back?
Amanda: Well, she's my mother, and you're my girlfriend, who should probably sleep in her own room tonight.
Fallon: Alexis wasn't the greatest mother, but... she mothered.
Adam: Hey. The hospital called. They just fired me.
Blake: What?
Adam: Yeah, so I don't know what the plan is, but that press conference did not instill much confidence in me. So if you've got something up your sleeve, let me know about it.
Blake: I won't be calling the hospital to get your job back or bribing anyone on your behalf. The bailouts are over.
Adam: Okay. I'm sorry. Look, I know there's been a lot, but this is just a momentary setback. Once we get past this, then we're back to normal.
Blake: It's not happening. It's my fault for coddling you.
Adam: So what, then? You're just gonna hang me out to dry?
Blake: You can look at it that way. This is for your own good. You're on your own now. It's time for you to move out of the manor.
Adam: Wait. What? Are you serious?
Cristal: You are a liability we can no longer afford.
Adam: Dad, please don't do this.
Blake: My mind is made up. You need to be out by the end of the week.
