Synopsis[]

SEASON FINALE - Blake and Cristal work together on the new obstacles threatening Blake's senatorial campaign. Fallon turns to Amanda for help regarding Liam and their marriage. Alexis continues her scheming as Dominique worries about Jeff's health. Adam finds himself in yet another precarious position. [1]

Plot Summary[]

SPOILERS AHEAD

The "Sahara Club Shootout" frames numerous Carrington cliffhangers. Fallon gets hip to Eva's schemes when Amanda helps uncover the assistant's history of stalking and obsession with Liam (followed by a knockdown brawl between employer and fired employee). Dr. Larson has an upper hand until Adam apparently throws him off a balcony. Jeff suffers a psychotic break and rampages after Brady. Blake and Cristal curb Beto's efforts to derail the senate race by moving the Flores empire to Atlanta. Alexis is jailed for Larson's murder in a red designer gown. Sam emulates Anders' calm demeanor and pulls off an impressive gala for Blake's campaign at the new club until Jeff, Beto, and Eva each show up uninvited with guns. A shot is fired. Fallon is struck by the bullet and falls into Liam's arms.[2]

Trivia[]

  • This episode's title, along with its synopsis, directors, and writer were revealed on September 11, 2021, via a press release.
  • This episode is the last to feature Alan Dale as a series regular.
  • The scenes where Alexis is framed and jailed for the murder of Bobby Larson is the direct reference to Alexis being framed for the murder of Mark Jennings in the Original Dynasty series. The arrest scene, the scene where Alexis is taken to jail in her red dress are all highly similar to the original Dynasty Season 4 finale.
    • Elaine Hendrix is wearing a replica of the red gown which Joan Collins wore in the original dynasty series. Costume Designer, Arin Burke, had designed and stitched the whole gown on her own and pays homage to the costumer designer Nolan Miller. [3]
    • Ironically, Alexis is the murderer of Mark Jennings in the reboot.
  • In season 4 finale of the original Dynasty, the fate of Fallon was also left unknown as she had a car accident. She was thought to be dead until her recast later in season 5.
  • During her fight with Eva, Fallon makes a reference to the 1950 movie All About Eve.
  • The final scene was the longest scene for Eliza Bennett to shoot so far.
  • Adam Huber ripped his pants during the scene when Fallon Carrington got shot. [4]
  • If Vows Are Still Sacred were the Season 3 Finale has planned, this episode would have been the first season finale of the reboot not to feature a wedding.
  • The show continues with its tradition of playing a late-70s 80s songs during the catfight by playing Cherry Bomb by The Runaways.

Quotes[]

Kirby (coughing): What's going on? Is there a fire? Do I need to call 911?
Sam: No, no. I was just burning some sage and might have gotten a little carried away.

Fallon: I know I'm the last person you want to see right now, but I just want to talk.
Liam: If you've come to apologize Fallon, I really don't want to hear it.

Beto (to Blake): Look, we can keep this real simple. If the company isn't mine in 24 hours, I will ruin your campaign. Maybe you can bully my sister, but not me.
Cristal: Enough. The only bully here is you, Beto. So let me keep this simple. You're done with this.
Beto: Is that supposed to scare me?
Cristal: Are you scared of Papa? Because if you don't stop, I will call him and tell him exactly who betrayed him and put him prison.
Beto: This isn't you, Cristal. This man has changed who you are. He's turned you against your family.
Cristal: I tried to solve the problem my way, but you wouldn't be reasonable... so back off, or I talk to Silvio.

Dominique: Jeff, listen to me. You need help, okay? I know you haven't taken your medication.
Jeff: Yes, I stopped taking my pills, but that's when everything became clear.
Dominique: Wait, wait. Why do you have a gun?
Jeff: Why does anyone? To protect myself. There are bad people out there, Mom. You don't know who you can trust. Brady is spying on me, and he's working with Alexis.
Dominique: You're not thinking straight because of the neurotoxicity.

Dominique: What? What are you doing? Unlock me!
Jeff: This is for your own protection. You'll be safe here till I get back. I won't let Brady make a fool of either of us.
Dominique: Jeff, come back here! Don't do this.

Fallon: Are you kidding? You may think that you have this whole innocent Disney Princess vibe going on, but I can tell that you are one step away from making a Dalmatian coat.
Eva: I know you're upset, and I am so sorry about the you and Liam thing, but...
Fallon: Yeah. I found your little love manifesto written in the margins of my husband's book. You're like the Unistalker. But that ends now.
Eva: Does it? You know, I have to admit I didn't think it would go this well. True, I never cared about this job or your company. I just wanted to get Liam away from you. All I had to do was invent a few stories about a divorce lawyer and then make sure Colin was in your office. But I did not force you to sleep with him.
Fallon: I have had enough of this all about Eva fantasy.

Sam: Well, a wise man once told me to just be confident and things will work out. And a little luck never hurts anyone, so... without further ado...
Kirby: Aw. "In loving memory of Joseph Anders. Never far from our hearts."
Cristal: That's beautiful, Sam.
Kirby: He'd love it. Although I never understood why he thought kookaburras were good luck, 'cause they always freaked me out.
Sam: Ruining the moment.

Joseph: I'm impressed. From the lost soul I met years ago to the man you are today, it's quite a journey. And you can thank that plaque on the wall all you like, but this is your vision.
Sam: So what now?
Joseph: No... I bid adieu, happy in the knowledge that you don't need me anymore. Which is just as well considering that I was never really here. (chuckles) Take care of the family for me, Sam. ♪ Now is the hour ♪ ♪ For me to say goodbye ♪ ♪ Soon ♪ ♪ You'll be sailing... ♪

Blake (to Cristal): You know, with your brother finally out of the way, I think we may have a chance of winning this thing. Do you realize with PPA, your family's company, and my new political power, this dynasty is bigger and stronger than it ever has been? Think of the things we'll be able to do.

Michael: You’re not well and you need help.
Jeff : You've been working with him all along. It's you.

Blake: ...stronger than ever. And I say that starts right here in Atlanta. And as your senator, I will work day and night to deliver that promise. It is high time that Georgians have someone in their corner to fight for a better deal. Thank you for your support. Enjoy the rest of the evening. I understand that Duolingo is on her way.
