"A Used Up Memory" is the sixth episode of the third season and the fiftieth episode overall of The CW's Dynasty. It aired on November 15, 2019.

Synopsis[]

SHAKE IT UP – Fallon ponders shaking things up with her company when Dominique presents her with a business proposition. Blake and Cristal focus on the trial, and Kirby focuses on finding Sam a man. Liam asks Fallon for a favor. Meanwhile, Jeff keeps a close watch on Blake.^[2]

Plot Summary[]

Dominique proposes to Fallon and Monica that they sign Vanessa to their music label. Liam asks Fallon to dinner, hoping to recover more memories. Vanessa becomes romantically involved with Michael, which interferes with Dominique's plans for her. Nadia helps Adam arrange for Evan to see Fallon with Liam. A possessive Evan warns Liam to keep away from Fallon. Blake puts his ankle monitor on Cristal so he can leave the Manor to meet the bailiff handling his jury, and asks that the jury be sequestered at La Mirage. Jeff nearly catches him, but manages to eliminate Blake's arrangement with the bailiff. Dominique threatens Michael to stay away from Vanessa. He ignores her, and soon figures out that she is Vanessa's stepmother. Nadia peeks at Blake's latest will and tells Adam that he made Cristal the sole heir. Liam's memories return, and he and Fallon reunite.^[3]

Although credited, Alan Dale is absent from the episode.
"A Used Up Memory" is a reference to a line Virginia Methany said to Dex Dexter in the Season 9 Episode 10: Delta Woe of the original Dynasty series.
Michael Culhane references Jussie Smollett and alludes to the fake hate crime that he staged against himself. Rafael de la Fuente (Sam Jones) previously costarred alongside Smollett in Fox's Empire, and he publicly supported Smollett prior to investigation determining the hate crime to be a hoax. De La Fuente later removed the posts supporting Smollett.
Vanessa Deveraux is revealed to be Dominique Deveraux's only stepdaughter. However on the call between Dominique and her now-ex-husband in the second season episode New Lady in Town, she mentions the "kids".

Dominique: You were with Michael Culhane again, weren't you?
Vanessa: So what? No, I like him. He's fun.
Dominique: (laughs) Do you think Kim married Kanye for fun?

Fallon: I know you can't see me right now, but my face does not look happy.
Adam: Hello, Fallon. (sniffs) Mm, You do smell mad.
Fallon: Ugh. Gross.

Dominique: What if I told the press you engineered that Victor Diaz attack for free publicity?
Michael: So I'm Jussie Smollett now? Because that's ridiculous, and there's no evidence to back it up.
Dominique: I don't need evidence, darling. By the time I'm done planting stories, your credibility will be shot, and the league will force you to sell the Atlantix. So, if you'll excuse me, I have your career to bury.
Michael: Vanessa and I have been on two dates. Not sure why you're overreacting here.
Dominique: Because I've invested too much into her to have you ruin it when we are on the cusp of something great.
Michael: I'm not doing anything to hurt her career, but it seems to me like you're using her.
Dominique: (laughs) Are you kidding me? I have been grooming Vanessa since she was a little girl. Choir practice, talent shows, voice lessons. I took her to her first concert ever... Whitney Houston in London. I have invested my time, my money, and my heart into this girl. There is too much on the line to allow you to distract her.

Liam: Fallon, I'm not doing this to blow up your world, I'm doing this because I remember my world won't be the same without you in it. Most importantly, I remember I was in love with you.
