As a former employee at Carrington Atlantic, she developed a close relationship with and marries Blake Carrington, much to his daughter, Fallon's dismay.
Celia was murdered by both Claudia Blaisdel and Hank Sullivan. Claudia shot Celia in the abdomen and afterward, Hank set the house Celia was trapped in on fire. The Carringtons were unable to save Celia before she succumbed to her injuries and died.[1]
Biography
Celia Machado was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and is the sister of Iris Machado. The girls had a rough life which only worsened when Iris married an abusive yet powerful man, Alejandro Raya. The sisters lived with Alejandro and Iris was soon pregnant with her first child. Celia and Iris planned to procure money so they could escape Alejandro and his cruel men. One night, Alejandro's abuse escalated to the point where he began choking Iris. In an attempt to save her sister, Celia 'killed' Alejandro. They were soon on the run from Alejandro's men and the police. While in Caracas, Celia and Iris planned to use a truck to escape their troubled lives. Unfortunately, in a hurry, the truck driver drove off, leaving Iris behind. Celia arrived in Mexico where she met and befriended Cristal Jennings. Cristal learned about Celia's rough life in Caracas and wanted to help her, so she gave Celia her identity and money to start over in America.
Celia, now Cristal Flores, moved to America and became employed by Carrington Atlantic. She worked her way up from the bottom ranks and soon developed a relationship with CEO Blake Carrington. After dating Blake for four months, they became engaged, much to Blake's daughter, Fallon's dismay.
Now living with the Carringtons, Cristal has been dealing with the death of Matthew and also keeping her past a secret from Blake. The only person who knows about this is her nephew Sam. The incidents where her former lover died in an explosion and her manipulative step-daughter Fallon leaked her racy sex tape finally pushed Cristal over the edge. After the crazy fight that knocked over the Christmas tree when she attacks her sister, Cristal reveals the whole truth about why she keeps her past hidden with the help of Anders. After all this time has passed, she also realizes that Iris never cared that she was in danger. Celia then revealed that she killed Sam's father because he was so violent. She did it to defend her sister and her nephew. Heartbroken that she lied to Blake about her relationship with Matthew and revealing her real name is Celia, Cristal was full of regret.
Celia was murdered by both Claudia Blaisdel and Hank Sullivan. Claudia shot Celia in the abdomen and afterward, Hank set the house Celia was trapped in on fire. The Carringtons were unable to save Celia before she succumbed to her injuries and died.[2]
The "real" Cristal entered the Carrington's lives following the death of Celia, who Cristal was close with. Cristal helped Blake cope and comes to terms with Celia's death and the part of her life she kept hidden. Through this, Cristal formed a bond with Blake that soon turned romantic.[3]
Relationships
Fallon Carrington
Fallon initially hated Celia and their relationship was very tough and rocky. This was primarily because Cristal was promoted to COO, a job that Fallon wanted at her families company. Celia was also engaged to Fallon's father, leading Fallon to do spiteful acts against Cristal.
Matthew Blaisdel
They had an affair before Claudia's "brain injury".
Blake Carrington
Cristal was happily married to Blake Carrington although she kept secrets from about her former life as Celia Machado.
Steven Carrington
Steven and Cristal had a mutual connection and friendship upon meeting. In "I Hardly Recognized You", Steven admits to caring about Cristal. At the wedding, Cristal and Steven bonded until she introduced her nephew, Sam. After many trials, Cristal and Steven formed a familial bond, especially after Steven proposed to Sam.
