Biography[]
Early Life[]
![]() Ben receives guidance from his big brother. ("Ben") |
Ben was born to Thomas and Evelyn Carrington. He was close with his older brother, Blake, who helped bridge the divide in Ben's relationship with their father. As a child, Ben confided in Blake that he might hate their father, so Blake taught Ben to play gin, Thomas' favorite game, in order to beat Thomas and to gain his respect. ("Ben") Additionally, Ben had a close relationship with his illegitimate half-sister, Millie Cox. Ben's friends were all interested in Millie, and Ben invited Millie in a party that he threw after his junior prom. Millie forgot most of the night due to the cheap liquor Ben provided, but she was grounded for a month when her own mother found out. ("My Family, My Blood")
![]() A note left in vain. ("There's No One Around to Watch You Drown") |
Ben eventually married to a French heiress, described as coming from "crazy money, questionable sources," and they had a daughter, Juliette. ("Parisian Legend Has It...") Ben remained close with his brother and developed bonds with Blake's children, Steven and Fallon. However, Carrington matriarch, Evelyn, fell ill in 2000. That year, Thomas and Evelyn spent Thanksgiving in Atlanta while Evelyn's caregiver was away for the holiday, and the family took turns assisting Evelyn. The night after Thanksgiving, Ben was responsible for caring for his mother, but he had to return home when alerted that his wife and daughter lost their passports on their trip to Paris for the week. Ben left a note on Blake's desk that explained the circumstances, but the note went unnoticed as Blake was distracted by his mistress and an oblivious Steven and Fallon used the note to write their own secret message for Blake. Thomas later found Evelyn having drowned in the bathtub, and Ben was blamed and disowned, his neglect cited as the reason for Evelyn's death. ("There's No One Around to Watch You Drown")
Ben lived in Paris with his wife and daughter, Juliette, but Ben and his wife eventually divorced. He had two additional marriages before he settled down with his fourth wife. ("Parisian Legend Has It...", "Ben")
Season 2[]
Ben's niece, Fallon, visits Juliette in Paris during a trip to rescue Steven from a potential grifter. Juliette informs Fallon that Ben is in London, but she will have her father's security team look into "George". ("Parisian Legend Has It...")
